Greece's government acted extremely quickly in containing the COVID-19 outbreak. As of 10 August 2020, there have been 5,421 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 211 deaths. The country was locked down until May, but this has been lifted. Social distancing measures are in place and masks are mandatory in all indoor spaces.
Lefkada has had just two confirmed cases of COVID-19. After successful quarantine in both cases, it was confirmed that, it had not spread any further. The island's tourism industry - hotels, cafes, bars, restaurants etc - are working hard to provide tourists with a safe holiday destination, and all residents and businesses are taking the issue very seriously.
For all types of boat, ferries and tourist cruise boats, there are restrictions on numbers allowed on board. The situation as of 10 August 2020, is that daily cruise boats are allowed to operate with approximately 80% capacity. There are also guidelines in place for maintaining social distancing, identifying potential cases before embarkation and during a cruise, and dealing with possible cases.
There have been some changes to our cruises this summer. Our season began on 6th July and we have been operating since then, on a reduced basis (not every day).
